Global Missions

At First Baptist Church, we do not view missions as a program, event, sermon series, or campaign. We view missions as a way of life. Whether it is here in Sanger or oversees we feel that every believer is called to live a life "on mission."

The needs in Haiti and specifically at the University where we work are so many.  We have people needs, needs for people with talents who can teach others.  Some of these are short term some longer.  We have several printing presses that were donated to us, but we don't have anyone trained to use them.  We still have to send out print work out to be printed.  Our professors' books are being printed in the capital because our press doesn't run. We need English professors as well as groups of young people or, even better, college kids who would come and interact with our students to push them to speak English.  We have a library that is ¼ finished.  We need to finish it.  We also need help training staff in running a library, we have a chapel that is Spanish styling that needs repaired, and we have an amphitheater that is half finished for lack of funds.  The needs go on and on.  We don't have enough classrooms or housing for professors and graduates. People who can come and teach computer repair or teach a computer class would be a tremendous help. Someone who could teach Excel, Access, entry level Word up to advanced for doing research papers and thesis.  We also need help in finding a bulk purchasing source for the computers at a good discount for  education in a developing country.  This should give you an idea of our needs.

Thank you for your interest, God bless,

Missions_Mexico

Will you sacrifice the time needed for us to roof churches in Matamoros, Mexico?  It will take hard drives of about 11 hours and 2 ½ days for steady labor with our brothers in Christ in Matamoros.  Will you be tired and will your body be sore, you bet?  Will it cost you a little time, yes, a little money, yes, a little sacrifice, yes?  Will you be fulfilling the great commission, will you be helping spread the word, will you experience the joy of missions, the joy of serving of Savior, will you come home with a joy in your heart you cannot wait to share, yes, yes, yes and yes?  We need a dozen or so who will be able to go.  We need others who will support these mission trips with your financial help.  We are answering the command of our Lord.  Experience the joy of being a part of the answer to this command.
