Next Sunday we will complete our series on Community@Church: The Open Door. I will be bringing the last message in this series. We will follow up this series by taking a Sunday to celebrate the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. This ordinance was given by Jesus to the Church, not individuals. While we individually partake of the elements, the ordinance itself is to be conducted by the Church. The Lord’s Supper is a community celebration. We celebrate what God has done in and through us the Body of Christ, not just in me as an individual.
Take some time this week to consider how you live in community. Growth Groups provide an excellent means by which we begin to live in community with other believers. If you are in a group, make sure to share phone numbers with each other so your group can connect outside your meetings. I have enjoyed spending time with my group discussing this sermon series and looking at what God is doing in our lives. Community grows as we share our lives together.
Sanger has another home football game this Friday. If you haven’t been to a game and worry that you wouldn’t have anyone to sit with if you went, give me a call and we will save you a seat this Friday. Just one more way to build Community@Church.
