Swanberg is coming this weekend. I hope you are excited about hearing this unique preacher. You will laugh.  You might even laugh so much you cry. And in the midst of all that laughter, God will speak directly to you. Make sure you have your tickets and join us this weekend. If you have someone you want to invite to church, this weekend is a great opportunity.

Our school district experienced tremendous change this summer. I just received some demographic information regarding the area covered by the Sanger School district. One startling number indicated that over 52% of the population is under the age of 35. The percentage of the population over 65 is 10%. Also a surprising percentage moved here from outside the state of Texas.  Those among us who lived in Sanger since birth comprise a smaller percentage than we might think. As a church we must consider how truly welcoming we really are. When we have meals at the church, is your table filled with only people you have known for longer than 5 years? If so, break out of that bubble. Take the time to make new friends.

Growth Groups provide a great opportunity to jumpstart that process. Denise and I will be hosting one group. We are working with John Guerra to choose the right evening for our group. We are excited about the chance to invest in the lives of people with whom we haven’t been close to until now. Even though filling our group with friends from my high school days would be fun, we recognize the amazing opportunity to make new close friends. Will you join Denise and me in committing to Growth Groups and making new friends?
