Pastor's Pen

Churches constantly face a difficult question of what activities, among a huge potential of opportunities, does it take on as ministries. The pastoral staff and leadership here at FBC Sanger receive an almost constant flow of requests for the church to participate. For us to know what to take on requires some kind of strategy grid. We could very easily push the church into so many activities, all of which are good, that we lose impact in every ministry. This past Sunday evening Bobby Cates, the consultant we are working with on our Vision Team, outlined a process to help us determine the values, goals and focus for FBC Sanger. This process will help us look at what opportunities we join.

Learning who we are, who we have been and who God wants us to be will help us determine priorities and ministries on which to focus to achieve the vision God has for FBC Sanger. Pray over who God would ask you to nominate to participate on this team. In your Connection Bible Study group this Sunday you were given information on nominating individuals. Spend some time praying and discerning whom God would have you nominate.
