This week, I need to cover a couple of adjustments at FBC Sanger. We will be returning to One Worship and Bible Study time for at least the next four weeks. All Connect Bible Study classes that are studying The Treasure Principle will meet in the sanctuary at 9:00 am. You will watch the video together and then proceed to your individual classes. Connect Bible Study teachers, please contact your class members and let them know where your class will meet. Connect Bible Study classes will meet until 10:15 am. One Worship will gather at 10:30 am. Our music leadership team met Sunday afternoon working extremely hard to prepare a time of worship leading us back to the Heart of Worship. Towards the end of the singing time, Ty will be leading us in a song talking about coming back to the Heart of Worship. I encourage you to take some time this week to listen to that song and also read its backstory. I believe this story will touch your heart and help prepare you for Sunday morning.

You can read that story here:

Over the next few weeks, we will join together, learn about investing our lives for eternity and worship as the One whom it is all about. On January 22, we will meet as a church for discussion and prayer regarding our future. That meeting will occur at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. At this meeting, the Pastoral Staff and Deacon Body, after listening to the church, will present a motion to develop a team looking to the future. This team will carry the responsibility to lead the church in prayer, seeking God’s plan. My prayer over the next months will focus on making Jesus the Heart of not only Worship but everything in my life.

Will you join me in this prayer?

One other minor adjustment you will notice in this newsletter. If you look at our giving record, you will notice that the giving is recorded on a monthly basis instead of weekly. This will help us get a clearer picture of giving. We have rather large swings in giving on a weekly basis. That reflects how families in the church receive their personal income and then give their tithes and offerings. Many within our church receive their income once a month and give accordingly, others receive income on other pay schedules. Given that reality, our giving goes up and down throughout the month. By tracking the giving throughout the month we will better demonstrate the financial picture, which is currently very strong. This week the giving record will show the giving from the first two weeks of January compared to the entire month’s budget needs. If you have questions about this please feel free to give me a call so we can make sure understanding of this adjustment is clear to all.
