We are almost finished with our series on forgiveness. I pray that God has been working in your life. You might feel like you are walking through a desert spiritually. Unfortunately, that is one of the hazards we face when dealing with this issue. Trust God to continue working in your life. He will bring you through the desert as long as you keep pushing towards forgiveness. This is one area where we learn the truth of Paul’s words about “working out our salvation with fear and trembling.” Keep working and God will change your heart. Do not give up, no matter how much you might want to do just that.
Remember that this coming Sunday we will observe the Lord’s Supper. Work this week to prepare your heart for this special time of worship and communion with God and His people. If you are struggling with forgiving someone, put extra effort into that endeavor this week. Put special emphasis on forgiving anyone within our fellowship with whom you are estranged. Take care of that spiritual block this week so that when you celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us, your heart will be ready.
At the end of the service, our Deacons will be at the back doors collecting a special offering to bolster our We Care Fund. This fund assists those within our congregation facing difficult times. Through this offering, we will be following a long tradition of our Baptist forefathers.
