The new flock of kids attending college always includes those who need a little help with everyday chores they themselves never did before, such as laundry or grocery-shopping. A man was in the dairy aisle for some eggs. As usual, he opened the carton to check them over before putting them in his cart. Beside him, a young man did the same to his carton ... then leaned toward him and asked, "What are we looking for?"
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.” II Chronicles 16:9
Sunday night, my eyes were running to and fro throughout the gym and outside, looking for help! And I found plenty of help. Thank you FBC for over 100 volunteers that helped prepare and serve hotdogs, popcorn, snow cones, and drinks; registration, baked cakes, hosted games, and were trunk or treaters. Not everyone registered; but we did have over 255 people register that did not list a church home, plus over 150 more that have a church other than ours and over another 150 members of our church. So, if it felt like we were busy Sunday night at our Fall Festival, we were. But, what a blessing! We had a great time of fellowship, provided a fun time for our children and families and we brought around 50 unchurched families into our church. Someone said, “now let’s pray for the follow-up,” but like I said last year, follow-up began last night by introducing yourself and getting to know our guests.
Thank you for your faithfulness to God and His church as you come out and serve! What a blessing to be a part of a church that is willing to serve! He showed Himself strong last night, so let’s continue to work with Him in reaching our community, He is not finished with us yet!
