Pastor's Pen

What a crazy few weeks for FBC Sanger! We have sent our children to camp, held VBS, sent our youth to New Orleans, and received nominations for new Deacons. Thank you to all who have volunteered to make these events a success. Adding to the craziness, we outlined our proposal for new worship and Connection Sunday School times starting August 21.

This new schedule has gone through multiple variations as the pastoral staff discussed our needs and opportunities for the future. We will have two worship services: 9:00 and 10:30. The first service will utilize the choir while the second will use a band with additional vocalists. Much of the music in both services will be the same, just presented a little differently. During both worship times, there will be Connection Sunday School classes meeting. The youth will meet for Connection Sunday School at 9. For all other age groups, we will have Bible study during both times of worship.

I am asking for everyone to be willing to make a sacrifice for the future growth of FBC. God is calling us to step outside of our comfort zone to make room for new followers of Jesus joining our church. God might call some of us to voluntarily leave a Sunday School class to either teach or be a student in a new class. God might call some of us to attend a worship style that is not our first choice to make sure we have a variety of ages in both services. Whatever God is calling you to sacrifice, say yes to Him.
