While attending a marriage seminar on communication, Jim and his wife listened to the instructor declare: "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other." He addressed the men: "For instance, gentlemen, can you name your wife's
favorite flower?" Jim leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?" The rest of the weekend did not go very well.“Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:4-5
“Delight” in Hebrew is an interesting word. It means to be pliable. You know, like when you ask your wife, “Where would you like to go eat?” or “What movie would you like to see?” and they say, “Whatever you want to do.” And you drive straight to their favorite place or go see “their” movie. Delighting in someone is when you don’t care what you’re doing, you just want to be with them. When we delight in the Lord, we are surrendered; we are committed to God’s glory; we have submitted to His pleasure, His will, His authority. When we delight in the Lord, we have died to ourselves, our wants, our wishes, our agendas. To delight in the Lord, we have to know Him and recognize what He wants.
This past weekend was awesome! Thanks to all of the teachers, leaders, and F.I.T. Team members that weathered the storm to attend the DBA Training! You are awesome! Your presence showed that you want to be and do your best for the glory of God. I was so proud to have the best group and largest group. May God bless you and use what you learned for His glory.
Sunday was awesome! We had 208 in our first hour of Bible Study and 171 in the second hour. Our newest class had 16 present and we were looking for 4 more. Both worship services were wonderful times of glorifying the Lord and the baptisms! This is an exciting time in the life of our church as we put it all on the line to reach this community and our world for Jesus Christ. Put Christ before everything and commit to being here each Sunday at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. for worship and Bible Study. Invite your family, friends and neighbors, commit and trust and He will accomplish what He wants to accomplish in our lives and in our church. Delight in the Lord with all your heart!
